Hello, I am Director Koji from MICHAELA.

I hope everyone is well!

Let me introduce our new hair assistant, NEZ who used to work at a Koren hair salon.



He is the youngest at MICHAELA and he reminds me of the time that I was a hair assistant in Japan and really appreciates again any senior hair stylists who have taught everything about what the hair stylist job is.

I will try to teach any hair stylist jobs to him that makes he be a good hair stylist in the near future.

What he learns is blow-dry hair.
Here is the big difference about how to blow-dry hair between Singaporean style and Japanese style.

Singaporean style: using a big brush to blow-dry hair

Japanese style: using a hand to blow-dry hair

To make hair be easier to manage and style hair, we Japanese hair stylists use our hands to do it.

It looks not that difficult but for you, if you do it with your hand at home, you may have difficulty…so what I recommend to you is just wet your hair before blow-dry.

Let me introduce our new hair assiatant, Eunice.
I realized that she is very motivated and has been learning hair technique and work skills since joined.
I am very impressed her because whenever I teach any new things to her, she takes notes. 
She has been learning Japanese style shampooing, spa and etc… and here is the photo that she is learning spa technique.　



Currently, to men 's customers she is giving shampoo.

Hello, I am Director Koji from MICHAELA.
Today, I would like to write about hair drying.


You may be lazy to dry your hair after shampooing in such a hot and humid country Singapore.
80% of my female customers use hair dryer but only 30-40% of my male customers use hair dryer.



So there is a question…why it is good to use hair dryer. There are 2 reasons…

1st reason is texture of your hair will get smooth.

2nd reason is cuticle will be placed in the right position and it can prevent from flowing out moisturize ingredient.


When you get old like over 30 years old, your hair gets weak and moisturize ingredient and oil in your hair. Not drying your hair by hair dryer is one of the reasons why your hair gets dry or thin.


If you want to keep your hair in good condition, I recommend that you use a hair dryer.

Today I am showing you a new hair style with before and after pics.

Hair style: Wave Hair Style


Haircut is the same as the one was done to straight hairstyle.

Perm is not actually put on because it has damage but
if perm is put on her hair, the tip of the hair is flat parallel to
the floor and firmly curls the tip of the hair and adds one curl to the middle area.


Hair on the surface is put reverse curl.
The finish is elegant but not too much gorgeous.
Hairstyle has many layer is easy to have volume but
if you have too many curls on it, it looks too gorgeous and not in fashion.
