Hello! I’ve been a hair stylist in Hair Salon Tokyo MICHAELA from it was born and people call me Kenta .
In this blog entry, I will write about a hair style at I’ve customized for our very own regular customer.
There will be photos before for all y’all reference just in case anyone of you wants to have that design as well!
I sincerely hope these blog entries will help with you in talking care of your hair!
Whenever a customer appointments me as their lead hair stylist, I always give my best to bring out our customers charm. Going an extra mile for the customer, I will figure out one’s beauty with suitable hairstyles catering to their very self. These are the kind of skills that I’ve trained to become, that kind of person.

Current condition 
After analyzing her hair, I found out that she’s having trouble with the volume of her hair due to the fine straight hairs that she inherited. Besides that, she does have sharp looking face line and her facial features are defined as well.
Without her fringe, it tends to make her look mature than she suppose to.

Despite consulting her and gave her my professional recommendation, I ought to let her know that her thinking is the priority. It doesn’t matter what my recommendation is, after all it’s what she likes. What kind of person she wants to be or rather I should say, what kind of impression she wants to portray herself. Such as pulling off a cute,sweet,feminine look? Or a cool and elegant look.
I often ask customer this particular question:”Do you have any specific imagines for your appearance?”

However, she’s up for new hairstyles! She even dared me to freestyle her hair as long as she looks good but not too young!

"Okay I usderstood, leave it to me! I'll do my best to make you pretty!!"

That is my favorite sentence!

As we have annouced on our news section, blog, SNS accounts and SMS messages,we will be temporarily closed from 7 Apr to 4 May 2020.

Making our customers happy and satified is the mission of a stylist.
This is our aim to be a stylist that people commented 'You can't go wrong with this stylist '.


"Why are we temporarily closed？"

We also did not expect this situation before COVID-19 keep spreading in Singapore.
According to the latest goverment regulation, only hair cut services can be provided in a hair salon.






We always put our customers at the first place before anything as always.

Of course we have faced some external resistance to hindering our operation before.

For example, when earthquakes happened in Japan and rainstorms in Singapore.

We always face it and go through the crises with our smile.

However, this seems a different challenge when comparing to the past.

This is not a natural disaster but a communicable disease , and "stay home" for such a long period of time  is something I have never experienced in my life.


And we also care about the happiness of our staff as important as the customers

I think that our staff is being taken with warm care though we've only been working for a year and a half.

If we continue our daily operation, our staff may need to take the risk to get infected when travelling to work or home.

And most importantly everyone is also not advised to go outside according to the government suggestions.

If anyone of us get infected......

No matter our staff or customers won't be happy


It will be a tough road for those who have been gone through all these

Our staff also won't have the peace of mind to perform their job duties.

Therfore we have a discussion with our owner Mr.Nakanishi and decided to close temporailiy.

"Will our customers going to leave us after we announced?"

Of course we are having such worries.


But we always believe in our valued customers

and also believe in ourselves!

We try everything we can do and just believe in ourselves!

Sometimes I will laugh alone when I think of the chat I had with all of you.

We will work hard to further improve our services and aim to provide an even happier experience to you after the qurantine period is over!

I have been working as a hair stylist for more than 10 years and I have never experienced such a long "holiday" (Don't worry, I am still practising during the qurantine time.）

I am still not used to days like this as a workaholic. However, this maybe the time for me to think about myself and listen to the thoughts of our staff and customers



We understand that male customers may have very uneasy days if they can't have their hair cut for 1 month.
We look forward to seeing you in a healthy environment in the future!

Hello, this is receptionist Clara from Hair Salon Tokyo MICHAELA, so yesterday I mentioned the basics of using a hair curling iron, so today I would like to share some hair care tips.


When it comes down to haircare, the applicable products might just be the first thing that comes to mind. Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, serum oil, you name it. These are all products that we see so often in the haircare section of the drugstore or the salon we frequent.

Then again, we must not forget about the tools, hair brushes, combs, towels, dryers, etc.
These tools play an important part of our personal hair care routine too.

Our hair is said to be treated gently like that of a skin, especially when it comes to towel drying.
Did you know that when the hair is wet, the cuticles around the hair follicle gets raised and in this state it is more susceptible to damage. And according to Aquis, "When hair absorbs water it causes swelling and stretching, weakening the hair up to 57%."  


Therefore towel drying the hair with a regular cotton towel such as bath towels and specifically rubbing the towel back and forth on the hair can create an enormous friction that not only damages the cuticles on the hair but allows the hair to tangled easily.
Damaged cuticles can greatly reduce the shine on the hair, making it look dry and frizzy. For damaged hair, it may even cause breakage.

Bath towels may be convenient to use and are widely available for use in travel accommodations but they are not good for the hair so I strongly recommend using a separate towel for the hair.


These types of towels can be easily found online, but I would like to recommend a highly raved brand, Aquis. They carry a range of towels specially made for both fine and thick hair types.

Hello everyone this is Satoko from Tokyo Michaela.
How have you been?
It seems like public holiday today, but to me the atmosphere doesn't feel so.
Anyway it is good to have a good weather today.
Today I will change the quilt cover. From an IKEA quilt cover to a Muji one.
Such trivial things simply make me happy.




All right, I'd like to ask a question
When you are resting and relaxing at home, what kind of hair styling products do you use? Don't use? Ohhhh please use!!

When it comes to hair styling in Singapore it has to be quite stringent as much as laws of this country are.

By the way in my case for hair styling products, I will choose hair oil.
The oil can moderately style and add gloss to your hair and at the same time increases the level of resistance to moisture loss as well due to the properties of oil and water.
​​​​​​
And kill two birds with one stone, we can use it as body oil. 
​


Normally I use it on the day basis.
The lemongrass fragrance is natural and yet familiar.
Such small matters contribute for lot of leeway in my mind, and I think makes me more thoughtful and kind of people around me and myself.

Sometimes soon I will be going to post about easy hair arrangements using oil.
