Hello, this is receptionist Clara from Hair Salon Tokyo MICHAELA. From today I would like to share some styling tips you can try at home using a curling iron.
 

I have naturally straight and fine hair and I often use the curling iron to style my hair.

For those with naturally straight hair, I believe they would or if not most of the time wear it straight, occasionally putting it into a ponytail or a bun. Whether short and straight or long and straight. 

It's a classic style, simple.

However, by curling straight hair it creates more texture and movement to the hair.

 

I believe that many have been there, having bought a curling iron or straightening iron to style our hair but seldom use it? And when we get down to using it for perhaps that special occasion we fumble about and the result, a badly done hair and a painful burn. Ouch.

 

And from all the experiences in a hair salon, we can't help but to marvel at the magic hands of the person who styled your hair.

'How did they do it, I can't even do the same myself''

The truth is, having someone who does it behind the chair for you versus doing it yourself from the front is completely different.

 

As with any sort of skill, constant practice by yourself makes room for improvisation to get a hang of it. 

 

Tip. If you own a curler with adjustable temperature settings, do consult your stylist on the best temperature for your hair to avoid burning or damaging your hair.

 

Let me introduce to you some basics to follow. 

There are 2 types of curl direction:

Inward Curl, the hair curls inwards diagonally toward the face. The clamp of the curling iron is on the outer part of the section, facing out.

Outward Curl, the hair curls outwards diagonally away from the face. The clamp is on the inner part of the section facing the face.

 

There are various ways and styles of curling as done by many others.

 

So here I will share my usual hair curling routine.

 

There will be 4 separate sections from the mid back to the mid ear line on each side and 2 or 3 sections from mid ear to front on each side.

 

Start off by sectioning the hair from the middle at the back into two, bringing the hair to the front. Further sectioning of the back most hair.

 

I find that working on the backmost section near the nape to the front makes the sectioning much easier as the shoulder can easily separate the curled and uncurled hair. 

 

Section out the hair in one bundle with two hands, leave one hand firmly holding on close to the ends with one hand at a 45 degrees angle, use the other hand to grab the curler to place at mid length, clamp down gently before starting at to wind the section 45 degree angle round around the barrel.

 

Hold for a few seconds before lightly releasing the hold on the handle to slide down to wind and hold again and gradually to the ends.

 

Winding patterns for the back area sections: 

Outward → Outward → Inward → Outward

OR 

Outward → Inward → Outward → Inward

 

Remaining sections in front are mostly outward winding. However do make smaller sections compared to the back area.

 

Once done, hair oil or styling products of your choice can be used.

Actually I keep a diary every day. The content of diary varies.
For example the pleasure and pain of daily life.
Anyway I write about everything that had happened.
​​​​​​Of course it is private and personal. It simply can not be shown to anyone.
By the way this diary is excellent stuff, because we can use for 16 months.
In this modern age, putting down all the thoughts that pops in the head into texts without a pen will be probably the most normal thing in the future.
Even still I want to keep on to write by hand from here on.
To write out each letter, in prevention of dementia.
But more than that, the words carries emotions.

At that time of writing, emotions of what am I thinking, how I was feeling then.
Why I selected this word. Is the letter thin or deep.
It might be blurred and illegible. 
A minute ago has already become a thing of the past. So it was me before but now not me anymore. Now I am already a new me.
Because the word "diary" brings significance for me as it is the memory of my past is brought to the future.
So I want to write my diary with much thought and care.
On days that seem to go well and not go well as expected, someday when the time comes in search for the answer for resolution, I would get it from the meaning felt from the entires in my diary.
So I will write about my days as it is.

 Endo personality is too deep character.
 I'm working with him for 4 to 5years.
 By the way he is the longest working anyone in our salon.
 He worked alone (only one stylist)when I moved to Sinpapore this salon

 I think he was so lonely.
 I'm worked with him for a while.


 Okay,Let's talk about it.

 Previously I worked in Tokyo for 8years.
 After that I moved to Singapore.
 I never quite my job when I worked in Tokyo.
 That's why I decided one!


 I want to learn from the beginning.
 I said to Endo
 「Please teach me from the beginning.」

 Firstly we were started from shampoo.
 (Our salon has signature shampoo.
 We have to learn how to do.
 Include assistant and stylist.)
 Endo was so strict😹
 I cried a lot of times.
 But he teach me when I do shampoo exactly.


 He's cut skil was a bit different to me.
 I normally watched him cut, when he did hair cut to customer .


 I can not speak  English and understand sometimes
 But he helped me that times.

 I still remember about quarrel with Endo.lol
 Normally he dose not get angry.
 But one day he got angry to me.
 Previously I can not say something when I want to say somethings.
 I wanted not talk with Endo that time.
 Coz I got angry to Endo.
 That's why Endo got angry to me.
 And then I cried that time.
 Endo said
 「Oh,sorry sorry I'm bad.
 Okay,Let's shake hands」

 He is adult than me.lol


 I had bad experience one about Endo.
 I still remember It was so bad.
 Finally he told me about what.
 But I'm sad that time.
 Coz we were together everytime(We are not couple.lol).
 You know...I though he didn't believe me.
 It was okay.
 Finally Endo told me what's happen.

 I talk a lot with friends about Endo.
 I know eveything about Endo.
 Maybe I know it Endo's girl friend than me.lol
